in other places believe that she got a pass from McConnnell on this because he already had the votes for blocking witnesses and that she should NOT get any credit for it.

So I think not.

But frankly, I have always thought that the phrase "have one's cake and ear it too" is senseless. Why else would one even want cake WITHOUT eating it?

I much prefer the French saying " avoir le beurre et l'argent du beurre" (to have one's butter AND the money for it).

The minions of the press will keep up with the "moderate" label, but I think most voters are smarter than that.
