I hope they don't sit around for 2 years thinking of the ONE policy change that they could enact. Right from the git-go, they should push through all our changes that have crippled the US since Reagan through Trump.
"What will the Repubs think if we push so hard?" we will hear. Frankly, I don't care.
This November seems to be our last chance to correct the mistakes of the past 40 years.
And the next 2 years is all we have to get OUR legislation done. There's no such thing as beginning to enact Democratic program...it's we do it!

When I break down the individual races, I'm incredibly hopeful.

Serious campaign finance regulations (money is not free speech!)
Outlaw gerrymandering.
Outlaw anything but human-verifiable and auditable paper ballots.
Require the same number of polling machines per capita available within a maximum distance of any citizen, with provisions for mail-in ballots.
Outlaw campaign ads not paid for and authorized by candidates.
Once you lock that in, the rest is easy, a large majority americans want policies that we want, it is just impossible to get reasonable representation when elections are so one-sided.
#2 priority -- media reform. Actually just take it bake to pre-Reagan rules.

The GOP would do this in a heartbeat. In fact, they're probably considering it if they win the senate and WH next Nov.
Ultimately SP justices should only be serving terms, like senators. Founding fathers had no idea how dramatically out lifespans would change.
