(7,417 posts)He should just concentrate on attacking Trump, not getting himself elected to an office. Just undercut the Constitutional threat, ruthlessly, constantly.

(15,111 posts)The laughter was from his studio audience. The ad itself doesn't have the extra noise. Send it to Michael Bloomberg and let him pay to run it on TV.

(51,599 posts)The sad reality is that he really is this way and too many people choose to ignore it. Where is the 25th? Oh wait, the Cabinet would have to admit he has lost his mind and that will never happen.

(58,785 posts)Wouldn't want a serious contender for the Democratic nomination putting his name on this thing, though. All it needs to be a classic RW attack ad is that sneary Republican voice and any of our candidates subbed in.
Bloomberg wouldn't touch it. Sanders? "I'm Bernie Sanders, and I approved this message"? Nah, too low for him to put his own name on. A Sanders PAC would have to own it.
Seriously, IMO it is Bill Maher all the way and should stay that way, completely dissociated from any candidate worthy of becoming president.

(7,417 posts)He has a YUGE sore spot about being laughed at. Obama's roasting of Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner has long been singled out as the moment that clarified Trump's resolve to try and eradicate Obama's legacy.
Trump has also used references to other nation's and international players "laughing at" Americans in such a manner that it showed the depth of insult he bestows the action. He assumes others have the same fault.
Get people laughing at li'l Donnie Two Scoops and it's the short route to him losing control in a situation. He visibly seethes and starts lashing out. Do it in public and he'll more plainly reveal his inadequacies.
