ME-SEN: GOP ADVISER SAYS SEN. SUSAN COLLINS IS 'DEAD WOMAN WALKING' AFTER VOTE FOR NEW TESTIMONY

During an interview with Fox Business host Lou Dobbs on Friday, Fox News political analyst and Republican Party adviser Ed Rollins called Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins a "dead woman walking" after her vote to hear new witness testimony during the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

Collins, along with Utah Republican Senator Mitt Romney, aligned their votes with House Democrats in a failed effort to get the vote for witnesses and new documents approved. That motion was voted down in the Senate by a vote of 51-49.

Rollins said Trump was in a "fabulous place" because of the practically unanimous support he is currently enjoying from the Republican party.

"With the exception of Romney and Collins, who probably signed her death warrant today," Rollins said, "this party is united behind this president and basically backed him 100 percent in the house, 99 percent in the Senate."

Because of her vote Rollins said, "Collins is a dead woman walking. She's not going to get any Democrats to vote for her because she's a Republican. They're not going to vote for her."

6. That is their mindset. If they can't control someone, they harm that person. Can't

That they would push the narrative that I've seen on DU today - that republicans worked out a scheme to have Collins vote for witnesses know that there wouldn't be enough other votes to pass it. That way she gains back some of her rep as a moderate; the repubs don't come off totally as a hive mind, and they get what they wanted - no witnesses. In any event, attacking her makes it more difficult for republicans to hold on to her seat so I guess I shouldn't complain.

The repiub way.

They'll brand an "L" on her forehead and then primary her.

What a country we're in.

Part of the kayfabe to sell collins as a "moderate". I'm sure this was fully negotiated with the other spineless republican senators to help give her a bit of cover in the elections. If another senator actually got some morals and jumped onto the witness bandwagon, I'm sure collins would be the first to jump off.

Collins casts a meaningless vote with the Democrats, Republicans go after her, she goes back to Maine and uses that to show her “independence.”

Ed Rollins knows what he’s doing.

Assuming he’s speaking politically, I would love for his prophesy to come true.

Collins needs to go whether or not she cast a “good” vote this time.
