Repuke sleaze argument: Past election means no removal. Uh, the past is *OVER* & now is NOW!1

What a fallacious argument!

No matter whether somebody won an election, that's not a gold card for the rest of whatever the time left in the term!

It's the same weaselly rationalization as TURTLE's "waiting for the next election" to thieve a legitimately elected president out of nominating a Justice.

The Constitution doesn't say "wait for the next election". It says, president nominates (no matter what time of the term it is). It says, REMOVE (no matter what time of the term it is).
