Getting tried of some dems celebrating the fact

That the final vote will be on Wednesday, so Trump cant gloat in his Superbowl
interview or at the SOTU speech.

How about being honest and admitting the fact that Witnesses wont be called
is a massive defeat.

Keep watching, the trial in the senate was and is the trial of the Republicans. Trump is a known quantity, the traitor senators never were untill today.

The impeachment is all about the 2020 election.

We could call 100 witnesses, including Jesus, but GOPer Senators would say that it doesn't matter. GOPer voters are fine with trump as long as he's espousing racist, white wing policies. We knew that going in, but kind of hoped something would break.

We're going to have to kick trump and GOPers rears in November.

That’s a rhetorical question because I don’t think you do. Wednesday will come and go and we’ll be even angrier than we are now.

Trump would like nothing better than to have us just give up and bow to him. I don’t think the 75% of the people who wanted witnesses and a fair trial are going to roll over for him.

Those hoping for a miracle were always going to be disappointed and, perhaps, ignored the past dozen years or so.

The Republicans had a script and followed it to the letter. None of this should be a surprise to anyone.

This has been a little intense for all of us. It’s a small note, that his expected SB ad, that his SOTU address, both of which had been planned as victory laps, specifically will not be.

That’s not even a Pyrrhic victory, my friend, that’s an out and out win for the good guys.

The fact that even as this drags on, shoes are dropping, today’s Friday news dump has yet to hit, and I get to hear all of my friends kids and their friends saying “what do you think about these liars?” knowing they will never vote republican as long as they live.

I’m not celebrating. But neither am I giving up. Yes, over the short term here, they win this one. But overall, I have more hope than I’ve had in a while. It’s not anything more than I think the truth is on our side, and I think as more of the truth here comes out, it’s going to be pretty damning for them in the run up to the next election here in 9 months! Hopefully the one after that too, if we can keep banging this gong.

Anyone who wishes this had not happened needs to have been against impeachment in the first place to be consistent.

The point of this exercise was never to get rid of Trump, it was to expose the full depths and breadths of Senate GrOPer corruption, lawlessness, and traitorousness with the goal of dislodging the GOP from a Senate majority. We've got a lot of work to do between now and November, but this will help.

....The invasion of the Soviet Union by Hitler. It looked very bad for months if you study it. That is often lost in the Sea of History. Yes, it very bad as the German's marched within in five miles of Moscow. But, the Soviets held and eventually turned the Germans back. It looked like certain defeat for the Soviets, but the winter arrived and the Germans were so sure they would win quickly and decisively. that the German generals did not plan for a winter..
...The Soviet winter that year, 1941-42, was especially cold, And the Germans did not have winter clothes to protect them as they fought. That turned the tide in WWII...The Soviets eventually turned the tide and forced them out and continued on to Berlin in 1945..

.........The lesson is: one defeat does not decide the war. Yes, Trump/McConnell may have won this one, but the big battle is November. Trump will not win in November. He is a liar and crook. As well as an ass**le.. More people know it now than ever. All around the world we know. The big battle is in November and Trump will not win.

That being said, Impeachment was a must, there was no way to go into the 2020 elections and slam Repukes and tRump as scumbag anti Democracy, anti Americans. The media would have turned and said Dems were complicit by not providing oversight.

So Impeachment had to occur. Also, it is likely a blessing, from a political aspect, that the Repukes didn't allow witnesses. The core are a lost cause, but that move will alienate a boatload of Independents.

I'm looking forward to Trump gloating on Tuesday about the Senate vote on Wednesday that will "acquit" him. Idiot isn't smart enough to understand that everyone will see that as part of the "fix is in."

It wasn't a "defeat" at all. And if you had even the slightest idea that those traitors would vote against that thing currently infesting the White House, you haven't been paying attention for the last 3 years. This is about November 2020. We'll see then if this country is truly lost.

GOP were never going to have witnesses or remove Trump. As it played out, no acquittal by SOTU, and GOP even admitting Trump guilt, 75% people want witnesses now and GOP now set up as the anti American values/ anti constitution villains moving forward into the election.
Well played Nancy!!

There were never going to be witnesses called, and there was never going to be a conviction or removal. Those things were never the point.

Anger is being stoked in our voting ranks. People are being galvanized to vote this revolting piece of shit from office. That was the issue, and I think you’ll find that in there end we’re going to come out with a win.
