Huh is Mitch looking to delay till next week to screw with the Caucuses?

Is there harm in not letting the Senators be there Monday?

On Edit: Whats the advantage to drag it out? Time is not helping the repubs what with a new shoe dropping every hour.

Sorry candidates, but I'd take it just to screw up Trump's Super Bowl & SOTU propagandafests. hlthe2b Jan 2020 #1

don't want the shitty optics of their traitorous "acquittal" trotted out by the MF during the SOTU because it will be the most sickening spectacle imaginable...it's either that or there are some outliers that Moscow Mitch hasn't bribed or threatened yet.

The Senate GOP don't want the optics of Trump gloating on the Super Bowl or at the SOTU, as in, it's bad enough we're not having witnesses and are acquitting him, we don't want him proclaiming victory on his halftime interview or at the SOTU. Probably to protect the vulnerable senators, I suppose.

As if these GOP senators have "some pride."

IMO your theory is more believable.

Senators don't need to be in Iowa for caucuses.
Trump looks bad at Super Bowl and SOTU not being acquitted.
Maybe Moscow Mitch is getting some revenge for not being told about Bolton.
