The Murkowski vote is largely, I think, about maintaining the myth of Roberts' neutrality. Him casting a deciding vote would have been an optics disaster, and they want to keep him clean so he can continue to deliver for them.

It's the same as when Collins, Murkowski, and Portman tease that they'll vote with the Dems--and then pull the football away.
It's (artificial) Democracy through deception.

(34,661 posts)that the next Administration is going to do some major House Cleaning and the Expansion to the Supreme Court will be in play. Never a friggin doubt if Biden or Warren takes the White House.
Keeping Roberts Pure has always been the Rethugs goal.
BTW,does anyone have any info as to Murkowski's still living almost full time in Massachusetts rarely ever going to Alaska?
