It's honestly not that big of a surprise to me. 40% of people are, more or less, bad people, and 60% are, more or less, good people. That's basically what the Trump presidency has demonstrated.

10. My impression is that the most common trait shared by that 40% are

that they are all self serving, "me first" types, just basically consumed with their own greed. They don't care about anyone else as long as they are getting their way, getting what they want.

An awful lot of them aren't very bright either, focused on short term gratification, failing to see they are participating in their own long term destruction.

They are people who believe what their parents taught them. They believe what their preacher tells them. Their source of news is talk radio and Fox News. They go along with the thinking of their neighbors, their friends, their co-workers, their families. Most are incurious, not questioning what is presented to them.
