Dershowitz lying his ass off claiming he didn't say what Ari had just showed videos of him saying, that a president can do ANYTHING to get himself elected, if even a tiny part of his/her psyche claims it was in the national interest. Dershowitz trying, as usual, to dominate the interview, yelling, interrupting etc constantly. Ari was having none of it, and yelled back, refusing to let D. have his way.

(16,079 posts)My theory is that Trump has evidence that Dershowitz wasn't wearing his underwear, as he claimed, during his massage...and that his "happy ending" had nothing to do with Cinderella...

(1,584 posts)They got the tapes, victims and documentation.
Then eliminated the only person who could incriminate Trump.
So Trump now can hold that over everyone else who was involved.

(15,646 posts)and Dershowitz knows his standing and self-respect are totally at risk unless he serves his master's purpose. Putie, Epstein, tRump, the compromised, the sychophants and the mindless deplorable lemmings ... against the rest of us, against America.

(464 posts)They're all doing kids. That's why the prisons/cages at the border with mexico keep losing children. They're friends of the traffickers. Republicans have a long history of this. Putin probably has video on all the republicans. Our country has lost the war with russia.

(7,113 posts)I almost did upon seeing Professor Underwear, but Ari took a big chomp out of him, all the while remaining, calm and mannerly. It was a joy to watch.
Then after dismissing Dersh, Ari let the full panel of legal analysts feast on the scraps.

(46,730 posts)Dershowitz gave statements in Congress that probably convinced Republicans that they could agree that Trump did the dirty deeds, but it still wasn't impeachable. And then he goes on Ari Melber's show and says exactly the opposite?
How does that work out for him. He gave information that Republican Senators can use to wiggle out of this dilemma, and Dershowitz thinks he can now save his reputation by claiming the opposite.
THIS IS HUGE. WE ARE DEEP IN THE RABBIT HOLE!!!!!

(4,982 posts)Dersh: I didnt polish a turd. How could I shine something that I refuse to acknowledge exists. I never even considered the turds of it.
Ari: Yeah, you did, on national tv. Roll the clip.
Dersh: That was 36 hours ago, look my hands are clean.
Ari: Well, considering the next clip Im about to play, I wont be shaking your hand now or ever.

(10,039 posts)Is it from last-night or something? It seems like pretty standard fare for Melber V. Dersh.

(7,113 posts)It starts off slowly, but Dersh gets progressively more pissy as it goes on.
You have to watch the entire 4-plus min. clip.

(10,039 posts)I didn't see any indicators in the footage for a date or time. Not saying it isn't correct it just seems like any other interaction between Dersch and whoever.

(7,113 posts)I get it. You're not impressed. But I invite you to point to anyone else on TV who pins Dersh to the wall as well as Melber did in this exchange.

It's not that I'm not impressed. This just seems like every other A.D. interview. In a vacuum? Pretty good.

(5,734 posts)We can't know the president's motivation, but the motivation to get reelected is what absolves him. Or, maybe it doesn't. This guy goes round and round until he thinks he's leaving everyone in the ol Razzle Dazzle. What a jerk.

(9,959 posts)... great. Mr Underwear tried to take charge of the conversation immediately, but Ari smacked him down - and never let him up!

(6,960 posts)This is what is important politically: even though what Dershowitz said is constitutional nonsense (even he is trying to walk it back), Trump heard it and will absolutely accept it. Dershowitz has given the sophomorically-minded Trump the 'constitutional' rationale to proceed with accreting more governmental power to the 'President'.
And what is to check the Executive Branch now? The threat of impeachment rendered impotent by feckless Republican/Trumpican U.S. Senators? Fear of an autonomous Department of Justice led by Bill Barr? A sense of ethics and decency that Trump clearly does not possess? The cadre of 'yes-men' with whom Trump has surrounded himself?

(333 posts)All of these trumpers are using this stupid donald trump childish media tactic of yelling, over talking, and name calling. These are low-bottom hoodrats! You have to treat them that way. Oh yeah, they'll claim to be mistreated when they come face to face with their own game, but do it anywhay. Trump is a child in a 73-year old body. Dershowitz thinks he's some great lawyer because he sat in some room full of supporters and gave the biggest bullsh*t defense I ever heard. I call it the "fu*k IT!" defense cause that is exactly what it was.
