today the senate will pass the enabling act

the enabling act was the nazi law that effectively gave full dictatorial powers to hitler. the reichstag in effect turned itself into a politically irrelevant rubber stamp for whatever hitler wanted to do.

today, republicans in the senate will not only refuse to remove donnie, but they will do so after explicitly refusing to here from key witnesses because they already know that those witnesses will all say that donnie is guilty as hell.

whatever the language and form of these acts, the effect will be clear. donnie will take it as carte blanche to do anything he wants. republicans in the senate will today send him a clear message: go ahead and commit any crimes you like, we will cover it up for you. in fact, we will even do everything we can to even minimize any embarrassment for you.

if you thought donnie grifted before, just wait.

if you thought donnie cheated in elections before, just wait.

if you thought donnie abused his power before, just wait.

if you thought it couldn't happen here,....

There's room for optimism. But we must recognize the gravity of the situation and the heinousness of what the Republican senate will do today.

Hopefully, we are motivated to fight, because the stakes are huge.

by 1936, you could only vote for the nazi slate, but hey, it was an "election".

donnie and the republicans will cheat. they cheated in 2016 and he's already cheated in the campaign for 2020 and the senate will now say they're fine with that, so now he's going to feel free to go nuts.

we will have to vote in overwhelmingly huge numbers to have chance to overcome their cheating.

the outcome is in the best interest of the country.

That is LITERALLY what his defense is saying - HE CAN DO ANYTHING as long as he believes it is in the best interest of the country, including lie, cheat, steal.

This is an incredibly dangerous precedent that while seems unlikely he would really take it that far, he is not pulling the strings, our enemy Putin is.
