(25,471 posts)I don't think the outcome was ever in doubt. The most vulnerable Republicans got to pretend that they care for their constituents and Collins got political cover. But the end result is the same as it was ever going to be.

(31,261 posts)not, by the time you got your belt loose it would be full to the brim. I don't expect Republicans to call witnesses. They will put on a show and make the vote close, but witnesses is too dicey for them. Like you, I will lose bowel control if they prove me wrong.

(77,081 posts)... voting yes makes her appear to be reasonable. She was, is and always will be a fraud.

(5,255 posts)Exactly.

(82,849 posts)Collins' vote is meaningless. If she's "yes" on witnesses, testimony and evidence, it's because her vote doesn't matter one way or the other.
Nailed it.

(6,477 posts)It's truly wild as fuck that the Republican "victory" is about NOT calling witnesses to explain what happened!

Nah, I'm just kidding. They've all got together and worked this out. She was told what to do by the GOP. They want to save her seat, and they already have the votes they need.

(5,255 posts)At a certain point you just have to give up on someone who continuously insults your intelligence over and over again with the same play while expecting you to believe it. The media isn't quite there yet, but I hope Mainers are.

The plan is still to steamroll the will of the voters, great job
Mission accomplished !!!
Ding dong, Dump is still impeached and he is guilty as sin. As soon as he is out in November, we should perp walk him in NYC, remember how nice the dems were to Nixon, we better not do that again.

(10,168 posts)and she can look like she at least tried to her voters. If her vote mattered for the outcome, she would have voted no.
They're all a bunch of fucking crooked, money grubbing scumbags.

(9,958 posts)... for witnesses... then, she will vote to acquit Crooked Donald. She wants to look "fair and balanced" to her voters. I hope they see through the charade. She hopes he and she both win - and approve more Supreme Court Justices.

(2,393 posts)This show by collins is particularly egregious because it's meant to give people the impression senate republicans are reasonable and that there's a faction that's willing to buck trump, to lull people into believing that not all of them have gone full on authoritarian, when in fact they have done just that.
