tie themselves into a pretzel knot to defend Trump, as Dershowitz has, it's because Trump has either called in a marker, or he has something on him. In the case of Dershowitz, he probably has something on him in regards to Epstein.

Dershowitz has either lost his marbles, or is exceedingly desperate.

Love his line that if it isn't specifically mentioned in the constitution, it cannot be an impeachable offence.

I'm going for the 'desperate' explanation. The convoluted thinking that is shown by this smoke screen of words just shows how desperate he, and the GOP are, to normalise Trump's beserker approach to playing POTUS.
