(17,160 posts)I've exhorted folk to drop facebook completely for a long time. No convenience, no ease of access is worth enabling Zuckerberg's manipulation of public opinion.

(60,014 posts)My daughter thought it would be a bad idea - as an author, as someone who travels to give talks - hasn't impacted me in the least (and wouldn't care if it did).

(12,389 posts)that I wont go into, but I noticed this morning that posters are having a grand meltdown over the senates phony balogna trial. Ppl are blowing up the site with angry posts, cartoons, informational links. Almost thought I was on DU, lol!

(32,009 posts)And FB certainly didn't. That is not how the stock market works. FB got their money from issuing stock long ago. Now it is in the hands of third party investors. Zuckerberg would only lose money if he happened to sell any stock he owned yesterday and he had purchased that stock at a higher price. The odds of that is zero.
I remember the last time people were posting about boycotting FB when its stock was trading in the 160 range. That was about 6 months ago.
Now it is trading in the low 200s.....

(5,661 posts)In light of Tim Cook/FB story.
Gonna be kickin up a few more boycott posts too.
Time for people to REALLY EXAMINE their use of (and support for) Zuckerberg and FaceBook.
Really. Examine it! If you boycott Goya and use FB. Examine use/support of FB.
If you boycott Publix and use FB. Examine use and support of FB.
If you boycott... and use FB...
