A PBS reporter said that McConnell had a big smile on his face. I don’t think a reason for his smile was offered, but I might have missed it

to announce how he'll vote after the questions are concluded.

The Rs will ensure there are not witnesses or other new evidence, but it will be a short-lived victory. It will be the last gasp of a dying party for at least a generation, maybe longer.
