I'm just finishing the build and alignment on an Elecraft K2. So far, so good! All that's left to do is complete the receiver and transmitter alignments on each band, then install the SSB and battery options, then a final alignment and I can get it on the air.

This one was purchased several years ago, and I took a break in the construction when we had the house remodeled, and recently was able to get the box of parts out of storage.

And even invented an antenna. My brother used to do it years ago too. It's something I've thought about getting into over the years.

As long as you have a bicycle (or some other) generator, you may still be able to communicate with others. And hopefully locate some food...

"Survival kits" aren't as far fetched, anymore.

Sorry, I'm on the pessimistic side of the pendulum swing, tonight.
