Are you an "elitist?"

Do you have a sense of fairness and justice?

Do you believe science should outweigh dogma?

Does children being separated from their loved ones and locked in cages bother you?

Do you believe that a minority of uninformed voters control our government?

Do you think that a party held together by greed and hatred is currently in power?

Do you think that blacks/browns/Jews/Muslims/and all of those "OTHERS" are your equals?

Do you believe that "white Christian nationalism" is a threat to freedom?

Do you believe the Republican Party has become a threat to America?

Have you spent the last 3 1/2 years worrying about the survival of our democracy?

Do you worry about the world that will be left for your children/grandchildren/etc?

If you answered "yes" to these questions, you are officially an "elitist." And if this year's presidential election is stolen (again), you may be part of an endangered species.

1. I was told I am an elitist because...

...I think only show dogs should be exempt from being spayed or neutered.

I believe the actual definition of elitist is believing anything that a RWer doesn't agree with.

The especially hated my husband because he was one of those professors "who are turning our young people into liberals". Ok, not sure how a biochem prof can do that but ok.

We were friendly and then they asked where we worked and we told them. They got dark expression and then said "what do you do there", my husband smiled and told them. At that point both she and her partner called us elitist and said we were the reason the country was in the dumper. Ok then. Spending 30 plus years working with young people, helping them succeed, helping many of them become doctors is putting the country in the dumper. We both looked at each other and smiled, they just walked away because we didn't engage them. I learned a long time ago not to get in to a shouting match with an idiot, it is a waste of my time and effort.

When we went to school, in the 50s and 60s, we were told that if we studied hard and excelled we would have a job which would allow us to support a family and to save for retirement. Also, that we would be able to contribute to the benefit of our country and the world.
