2. I am beginning to think it doesn't matter to the Senate

Of course, it matters a great deal to the country (maybe eventually)
But the Senate have too much blood on their hands enabling Trump

The GOP are not going to support impeachment so why make matters worse by allowing damning testimony?

3. If they don't call Bolton then Democrats will bludgeon them mercilessly. At least I hope so.

They will lose swing voters in droves. There will hopefully be a bloodbath in the Senate for failure to call witnesses knowing what the Bolton book says.

If they want to protect their own individual hide then they better vote for witnesses and they better convict.

It's certainly one of the reasons they're blocking witnesses.

It doesn't change anything, however. They don't care so it's not going to lead to conviction.

I think the Republicans have put themselves in a terrible spot. With this coming out you’re damned if you do damned if you don’t scenario. If they vote not to allow witnesses when Bolton is all but confirming the evidence it essentially says we are here not to hear evidence but save the president. Anyone in vulnerable races will be in the fight of their life to not get voted out. If they allow witnesses it will be 2 separate shows, 1 a serious 1 the other chasing conspiracy theories and the Bidens. At best they’ll have to say “this is bad but we won’t remove him”.

The GOP is in the unenviable position of supporting unthinkable betrayal and degradation. Republicans keep Trump they lose.

Bolton did it for retribution.

It’s darn clear he bribed the Ukrainian leader for dirt on Biden. Bolton hurts trump, but not enough.

Would love to hear him testify now. He might have better dirt on trump.

Damned if they do, and damned if they don't... not a good position to be in. And it makes you wonder how much Nancy has known all along, and if this is going just the way she figured it would.

Like I keep saying, she's a Political Surgeon.
