Three female House Impeachment Managers: Public will see trial as rigged if Trump acquitted

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/trump-impeachment-inquiry/three-women-impeachment-managers-say-public-will-see-trial-rigged-n1121271

The first three women to serve as presidential impeachment managers in U.S. history told NBC News in an exclusive interview on Thursday that if the Senate votes to acquit President Donald Trump, the American public will view it as a "rigged trial."

Democratic Reps. Zoe Lofgren of California, Sylvia Garcia of Texas and Val Demings of Florida also spoke about the need for witnesses in the trial, and added that even an acquittal won't amount to an exoneration of the president.

"It seems to me, if there's not a full, fair trial with witnesses, he may get an acquittal, but he's not going to get an exoneration," Lofgren said in the interview, in response to a question about whether an acquittal would be touted by the administration as a victory. "It's going to be seen for what it is, just a rubber stamp to get him off the hook."

"And so that's yet unknown, whether we’ll have a full trial, but clearly, he engaged in serious misconduct that upended the Constitutional order, really threatens our freedom,” Lofgren said. "Because it's the Constitution that has protected our freedom as Americans for over two centuries. That's what the stakes really are.” . . .

1. Nah, I would consider it rigged if he is convicted and removed.

Everyone knows how the vote will end. If he is found guilty, it could only be through Russian interference: Pooty changed his mind.

before this fiasco that it would be rigged. McConnell and little Lindsey are living proof of that. I can hardly wait for the entire truth to be exposed. WHAT is in it for them? tRump has the least qualified lawyers EVER. Neither of the two who yelled at this impeachment are truly competent. Sub-standard, just like their boss and the rest of his administration. When he announced that Kushner and Ivanka would be "senior advisors" we knew how this term would go. Like every other family operation the tRumps run, crooked from the ground up. Even charities are rigged in their favor. What a family of grifters. Poor little repubs. are running scared of PUTIN, not tRump.

How much is he paying them or what is he giving them to ensure they'll support this pretentious bullshit sham "trial" and ultimate acquittal?

He's a piker & pretender. not smart enough to make it in business, not even the casino business that is rigged for the house, despite daddy fronting him 63,000,000 under the table. He's a failure at everything, but has the cunning to be sucked in by PUtin & is totally reliant on him for everything now. If not for the repug tape that Russia stole, drumpf would not be in office, but fear & bribes work fine for lizard brain repugs who only care for themselves.

When the Senate acquits, the Constitution dies.

I'm thankful for the good number of Democratic (and some Republican) notables who are being quoted in public as warning of a cataclysmic turning of the democratic republic into a fascist state. In reality, the nation has been creeping toward fascism for decades until now. Now, it's happening quickly. The Trump Party is blowing the Constitution away. Trump will continue to cheat his way to another election win. He'll have assistance from Putin, China, and other countries hoping to weaken the US.

The power of authoritarianism has overtaken the political structure and it will render the Constitution as meaningless, its framing of government useless. Trump will assume a dictatorship. The GOP has paved the path for Trump. All he has to do is walk to his chair, and it's done.

"And, history shall not treat them kindly, no matter the current group think. Everyone that signed that pledge said to be a true jurist in this trial, will have signed their American soul away. May their conscious be their guide forever they will live with guilt and disgrace and their legacy's be remembered as traitors to the oath that they took." my quote.

If he gets acquitted by the Senate, and claim that he was "totally exonerated". And that's why our house impeachment managers have been so hard at work presenting their case to the American people in such minute, graphic detail, everything that is known about the mountain of evidence showing Trump's guilt. As I was listening to it last night over the telephone, my first impression was that it seems like they are really browbeating the Republicans, who refuse to even look at or acknowledge all the evidence of Trump's guilt, to force it down their throats, but you can't make them vote to convict if they don't want to. Rather, they were making an air tight case to the American public for the election in November.

Isn't tampering with a jury another crime, it's like the Shakespearean play with in the play, we have the crime within the crime without shame declared in the public forum
