elsewhere and the ones still in the chamber are probably sleep or doing something else. I can't picture majority of the even knowing what was said let alone taking notes.

Their minds are already made up.

But I am an optimistic.

He's first on the list for a roll call vote, so all Repubs will be watching him. If he votes for witnesses and docs, it could provide cover for others, as they wouldn't be "first" to flip.
