Their staffs are feeding them the briefest of info (# of calls or emails, the basic--yea or nay--take of their constituents.)
It will help whoever your senator is because each one of them is hyper-sensitive to public opinion, especially when directed toward them and their jobs.
So even if you have Lindsay Graham as a senator, it will help and it only takes a few minutes. Here is a government site listing their contact information:

Even if your senator is a Democrat, the call will help because he or she WILL tout that number to their colleagues. (That's one of the things senators consistently do.)

(12,265 posts)Calling his office is a waste because they clearly tell you they don't care what a democrat thinks, or anyone who disagrees with him or his President. I sent an email to his office after sitting on hold for almost an hour waiting.

(66,393 posts)I told them to join Senate Democrats in hammering Trump's defense, and not to let them up off the mat.
I told them that I didn't want Washingtonians from east of the mountains (Trump country...) to be the only ones calling. The staffers laughed at that.
