There have been threads recently asking how we all manage not to lose hope or

to get by or not be constantly discouraged or depressed by everything that is going on.

One way I manage is to watch the dawn. I've posted a number of threads in the Photography group sharing some dawn photos, but I thought I'd share this series from this morning here in GD. Seeing such beauty--when we have a gorgeous dawn--really soothes my soul.

These were taken from my 17th floor balcony apartment in downtown Raleigh facing east

And a great reminder that the sun will come up tomorrow.

Likewise, I enjoy a good sunset. It is usually so peaceful with the sun gracefully dipping its way into the west. The silent glide into the darkness of evening is calming to me.

from which I can see a sliver of coast. It gets my day off to a calm start. Drawing and painting, cooking and petting my cats help, too. If it weren't for these and Mr. Femmedem I think I would be paralyzed with anxiety.

Daughter and I went to the NC Museum of Art for the Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera exhibit. Included was an exhibit by Scott Avett (of Avett Brothers fame) Only regret was that it was too cold and windy to enjoy the Museum Park!

Nice meals and lots of time with my daughter!

The sunset was gorgeous and I was trying to spot great horned owls in the treetops. Was fully grateful and content just having the conscience to take it in.
