This is being way more generous to Trump than he deserves
But I think the "we have the material, they don't" quote from today, which I happened to see in the broader context of Trump speaking earlier, was just him the typical idiot that he is and butchering the English language.
Within the context- and no I'm not taking the time to find the actual quote because it's hardly worth defending him as much as I am writing these words- what he meant was (the Repuke Senators did a great job because) "we have the facts on our side, they don't."
He was trying to claim the factual high-ground- a lie in itself, of course- but he's a demented dumbfuck who can't get the words out right.
