"One of Trump's top Iran advisors got suckered into a honey trap, had their laptop/iPhone stolen and hacked before they woke up, and the White House refused to take precautionary measures regarding their security clearance. Ladies and gents, I give you the Trump administration."

More on John, er, I mean Andrew Peek:
Andrew L. Peek is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iraq and Iran in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. Prior to joining the State Department, he was a Fellow at the Clements Center for National Security at the University of Texas while finishing his Ph.D. in international relations under Dr. Eliot Cohen at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. His writing has been published in Foreign Affairs and The Wall Street Journal, among other outlets, and he has appeared regularly to discuss foreign policy issues on television.
Before entering academia, Peek served as a U.S. Army intelligence officer. General David Petraeus requested him personally for his Commanders Initiatives Group in Afghanistan, where he served as the strategic advisor on intelligence and special operations issues for General John Allen, Petraeuss successor. In that role he was Gen. Allens personal advisor for direct action, foreign internal defense, intelligence, and Pakistani aspects of the war. He also advised on the commanders meetings with foreign intelligence agencies, other national representatives, ministerial conferences at NATO, and interagency meetings with the White House. He subsequently served as a reservist with Joint Special Operations Command.
Prior to his service in Afghanistan, Peek served as the national security and foreign affairs advisor for two different U.S. Senators, Gordon Smith of Oregon and Mike Johanns of Nebraska. During the tenure of both, he developed a variety of bills and policy that were voted into law. These included the primary Iran sanctions bill of the 110th Congress, which served as the basis in the next Congress for the most significant sanctions law on Iran in 15 years.
Peek graduated from Princeton with High Honors in 2003 and received a Masters degree from the Harvard Kennedy School in 2005, where he served as a research assistant for Dr. Graham Allisons U.S. Foreign Policy Course. He is a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Peek is Fiona Hill's successor:

(36,874 posts)One night a guy goes to get a room in a Moscow hotel.
"Hello, I want a single room for the night please." "Fine, sir, here's one of our best rooms. Room 13," says the concierge and hands him the key. The guy goes upstairs, takes a shower and gets straight into bed.
At about 2 0'clock in the morning, two gorgeous naked women come in and slide under the covers. When he realizes what is going on, he starts screwing both of them. He can't believe what's happening.
Next morning, still surprised by last night's events, he goes downstairs to settle the bill. "How was your room sir?" asks the receptionist. "Excellent, I will come back again. What do I owe you?" asks the man. "Well. actually, sir, we are doing a promotional offer. Not only do you not have to pay but we give you $10 as a welcome gesture," says the receptionist. "What?" says the guy, very surprised indeed. "That's amazing." He takes the ten-dollar bill and wanders off, thinking whether his buddies will believe him or not. Needless to say, after a few days he's told all his friends and neighbors about room 13 and the amazing night of passion.
The next week one of his buddies goes to check out the room. "Room 13 please." "Certainly, sir, here's your key." After he gets in bed, at the same time, 2 o'clock, three girls this time, extremely horny, get in bed and screw his brains out. The next morning, not only does he not have to pay, but he too gets $10.
After a month, everyone knows this hotel and especially room 13. Everyone that stays in room 13 gets the same treatment: a good screw and a ten bucks.
After a few weeks, the story reaches the President. Trump decides to check the story out for himself. He visits the hotel and asks for room 13. He gets the keys and goes upstairs.
After a couple of diet Cokes he gets in bed waiting patiently for the naked girls to appear. Indeed at about 2 0'clock in the morning two naked ladies come to bed. They are as horny and wild as all the stories the President has heard. The President gets his pecker out and screws both of them for two minutes total. This is the night of his life.
Next morning he goes to reception and when he asks how much the bill is, the receptionist says, "Nothing to pay, sir. Actually, we are doing an introductory offer. Here's $50 as a welcome gesture." Curious, Trump asks the receptionist, "Well, that's strange. Everyone else who comes here gets $10. Why do I get $50?".
"Well, sir," says the receptionist. "This is the first time we've filmed a porno movie with a President in it"!

... Andrew Peek, the head of European and Russian affairs at the National Security Council, was escorted from the White House on Friday, Bloomberg reported on Saturday.
Peek, who took the position in November, was placed on administrative leave pending the security investigation, Axios reported.
He is the third person in that position to leave in the past year.
His predecessors, Tim Morrison and Fiona Hill, testified last fall during the Houses impeachment inquiry into President Trumps dealings in Ukraine ...

... Peek assumed the top Russia job on the NSC in November, according to his LinkedIn page. The position and the people who have occupied it have featured prominently in the Ukraine scandal that led to Trumps impeachment by the House of Representatives last year.
Peek replaced Tim Morrison, who left the position late last year. Morrison testified in the impeachment inquiry that the U.S. Ambassador to the EU, Gordon Sondland, had told him there was a quid pro quo in which U.S. aid to Ukraine was conditioned on the countrys government opening an investigation into Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company that employed the son of former Vice President Joe Biden.
Morrison took over the job from Fiona Hill, a longtime Russia expert who also testified as part of the impeachment inquiry. In her testimony, Hill said Republican accusations that Ukraine -- rather than Russia -- meddled in the 2016 presidential election amounted to a fictional narrative ...
