(34,086 posts)When I go with either my daughter or my spouse to the doctor, they always ask about feeling safe at home - in my presence. That doesn't do a lot of good if I'm the person they are afraid of.

(6,690 posts)My husband was sick a long time before he passed. I would step out near the end of every doc appointment. Initially, I did it because of that question... later I realized there's some issues a man doesn't want to discuss in front of his wife when it gets ugly like that.

(63,221 posts)now clued in as to what the person they are abusing might be seeing when they go in to give a specimen so they will either insist on following them in to the bathroom or will prevent them from going to a clinic/physician altogether. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to post on social media.
