If you were a United States Senator who just snapped angrily at a reporter for politely asking whether compelling new information about a matter of great import to the nation was weighing on your understanding of that consequential matter, you probably wouldnt see this as something to advertise.
But then again, youre not Martha McSally of Arizona. McSally just did exactly this -- yet she is now treating it as a badge of honor, as something to boast about.
In a perverse way, its fitting that this episode is going viral at exactly the moment when President Trumps impeachment trial is getting underway -- that is, at exactly the moment when Trumps defenders in the Senate are set to put on a great show of pretending to give serious consideration to the case against Trump, before voting to acquit him.
McSallys vile little performance puts the lie to that notion as effectively as anything possibly could.

AZ's lucky - they can eject this clown and elect a freaking Astronaut!

Remember, to the Republican electorate, reporters are scum, Enemies of the People.
Just like Jesse Helms' whistling Dixie at a black Senator. Didn't hurt him at all.
Deplorable people think gauche behavior is great.

(22,133 posts)thing. We all (not just us democrats) actually see these people for what they really are. Wolves at the door, in sheep's clothing, if you will. It's just too bad that they are part of the legislative process, thus hampering good legislation, and the like, based on some half truths and such.
A true shame, as we really do need people in government that will rise above this nonsense and actually govern this great country of ours. Yeah, voices against this or for this type of legislation is of course acceptable, but to mindlessly follow party doctrine, ignoring common human decency? To snap at our press representatives when they ask serious questions? It's all part of the American democracy process. Have they forgotten this?
