12. Bingo. The media is just as criminal as Trump and his cronies.

The only reason he is still in office (a big reason he's in office at all) is because the media coverage is slanted to keep him there. An even halfway honest media would have been all over Trump's vulgarity and corruption and would never have wasted everyone's time screeching about "her emails!" 24/7 to sink Hillary Clinton's campaign. An even halfway honest media would have been all over Mitch McConnell's obstructionist BS years ago, would never let him get to the point of holding Supreme Court justice appointments hostage and blocking the business of the people by holding hundreds of pieces of legislation hostage for months on end. A halfway honest media would never let Trump get comfortable enough to claim he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and get away with it, would never let McConnell get comfortable enough to claim he can't be bothered with upholding his oath to the Constitution during an impeachment trial.

With a few exceptions, I think the majority of media consistently has let the country down. But oh! the ratings!

2. If only the majority of USA citizens understood that

The entire World understands it, knows it, but we are too ignorant to understand it and accept it, to "proud" to admit we were wrong.

4. The majority of US citizens do understand it.

Apparently a minority of US citizens do not believe it because their enablers on Fox news and other right wing media tell them so. The media is more concerned with the opinions of white working class Trump supporters in mid-west diners than the rest of the US people who vote.

8. And even then they have to rig it to make it look like Trump cultists were the majority.

I honestly believe that those millions of people that supposedly voted for Traitor Trump were mostly, not all, in the imagination of Russian Mobster Shorty Putin and his trolls and hackers.

I have lived through ten presidents and their administrations. I have agreed with the actions of some of them and disagreed with others, but even when I disagreed with their actions I believed that we had a government with the Constitutional safeguards in place to prevent the US from becoming like a South American country where greedy, corrupt governments impoverished their citizens, only to be followed by military coups when the corruption was too blatant to ignore any longer. That cycle has been repeated over and over in some Central and South American countries, which are now impoverished because business and jobs do not flourish in corrupt governments.

The United States is on the cusp of becoming like those corrupt countries. Trump and his entire administration are corrupt beyond belief, but what is so dismaying today is that the Constitutional safeguards that have kept our country functioning as a democracy with the rule of law have been eroded to the point of disappearing. AG Barr is equally as corrupt as Trump and Pence and will take no actions to investigate criminal behavior. He thus ties the hands of the FBI and CIA. Republicans in Congress not only do not serve as a check and balance on Trump, they actively cover up for him.

Who is left to administer the law? Perhaps journalists can uncover enough to bring at least some of the corruption to the public, but they do not have subpoena power or access to documents. The US is truly on the edge of losing our freedoms. We need only look for an example of how that could happen at Vladimir Putin’s actions this week to change the Russian constitution in ways to ensure continuing power for himself because he is barred now from another term as president. Does anyone really think that Trump and Republicans would not do the same to keep themselves in power? Our Constitution protects us only when it is revered and followed, and we have an entire administration and political party that are taking actions to trash the US Constitution.

9. Ukraine isn't holding corporations to account the way the U.S. is its president.

We are more a tax haven than Ukraine, which they don't particularly mind, since all the embezzled and criminal money will attempt to hide here and not there.

But that doesn't make the U.S. more corrupt. Just a honeypot for it.

We do, however, try to live under Rule of Law. This is just the beginning of lawyer wars against a bought government. But until there's a literal dictatorship, not as many nations, including the other wealth havens like Lichtenstein, Monaco, Luxembourg, Seychelles, Mauritius, etc., can claim they are ruled by law, nor do they prove it.
