Evidence is mounting to implicate Pence as well as Trump for illegal acts. The Constitution states that the Speaker is next in line to succeed to the office of president. We should - by law - convict both POTUS & VPOTUS for corruption and abuse of power. And as a nation we should be relieved to see them removed. The level of corruption of the entire administration is at a staggering level and without FNC's lying liars, there would be indictments in likely every department.
But as she is the perceived ringleader of the impeachment, how could this actually happen?

(3,259 posts)I think the senate has to approve that, right? Which would never happen. Is that right?

Let Trump appoint someone utterly ineffective and unelectable as vice president. Ben Carson would be a good choice.
It would pave the way for a Democratic President, House, and Senate.
Otherwise the deplorables get violent, which is exactly what Putin wants.
There's some really bad shit in Pence's closet, otherwise he wouldn't be Vice President.

Cite the statute and the person/body who will prosecute for it.
GOP might dump Trump if it gets bad enough, but they will not be letting Nancy Pelosi become president. It's a wonderful idea, but it's pure fantasy. :p
Mitch on stealing a SCOTUS seat: "Let's let the American people decide." He will say the exact same thing and force us to wait for the election.

(31,261 posts)Spiro Agnew, if my history is right, was caught on state charges. To get Pelosi serving until next January, Trump and Pence would have to go out at the same time, I don't see people like McConnell and McCarthy letting that happen without a shitstorm.
