Trump silent as Puerto Rico slammed by over 2 dozen earthquakes

By Dan Desai Martin -January 15, 2020 3:01 PM

Trump has made time to rail against impeachment and complain about water pressure, but has refused to speak out personally in support of the island's residents.

Donald Trump has maintained a rigid silence in the days since a massive 6.4 magnitude earthquake rippled across Puerto Rico on Jan. 7.

In a departure from his typical frenzied social media activity, Trump has not tweeted once to offer support nor give encouragement to the island's residents, who are still working to recover following a series of natural disasters.

Since Dec. 28, Puerto Rico has been hit with more than two dozen magnitude 4.5 or higher earthquakes, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The most powerful quakes occurred on Jan. 7, followed four days later by a magnitude 5.9 aftershock that resulted in additional damage to the island territory.

According to the Associated Press, the quakes have caused one death, nine injuries, an estimated $110 million in damages, and left hundreds of people homeless.

We know by now that if it doesn't concern or have an effect on him and his reelection, or he isn't playing the tantrum boy about it and mad at it, it does not exist/matter.

That may be a another erosion tactic. We know that, in that office, the President, (not a tin pot dictator) would comment on disasters, not just affecting the USA and its territories, but globally. He may just be showing a form of corrosive censoring by not responding which aids and abets the slow, gradual destruction of our institutions and norms.

That's a Fascist tactic. I mean right out of the playbook. There are many of them in his "show". However, if people what to underestimate him, that's also a part in his "show". I enjoy making fun of his buffoonery, and "flaws" but I keep mind it is a part of the "show". If you look carefully you can see how well it is working in the body politic, the media and online.

I have to admit it is being done rather expertly because much of it hides behind his act to the point that you have to focus your eyes, so to speak, to see how it functions. My suggestion is just watch what goes on with the above in mind and see if it starts to stand out.
