Occasionally, I get criticized for my prognostication.

However, my mother once caught me prognosticating and told me, "It's perfectly normal to do that, but it's something you should do in private."

I was never good at listening to my mother's advice.

Nobody remembers when you're right, nobody forgets when you're wrong (conservative political commentators are excepted).

Because he wrote an article making fairly wrong predictions about what would happen.

And i also like the idea of a bunch of "Boys Life" style books about a Boy Prognosticator - kind of like Encyclopedia Brown but considerably shorter as he solves the mystery on the first page.
