What is "identity politics"?

I have heard the expression used against us before.

Is it good, bad, or what?

Naturally, she self-identifies as a "southerner" (which is all about dat southern identity--and is very political) and voted for Trump.

I don't mess with her anymore.

4. Decrying "Identity Politics" IMHO

It is a shorthand way of dismissing the complaints of people whom advocate for the rights and interests of minority populations (i.e. minorities, women, LGBTQ).

It's bad stuff.

People don't want to be discriminated against on the basis of their identity.
