The hardest job we may have, will be the one after Trump is voted out of office..

In a number of areas...

We will have to debug the White House, phone systems and God only knows what the Russians and North Koreans have bugged.

Of course trying to get our dignity back on the world stage.

Rebuilding our alliances.

So many things..but primal will be

Keeping the investigations going on the Trump mafia. We cannot just let him walk away after he has spent these years dismantling our government.

We do not even know, what we do not know.

It will be so easy to drop the investigations because everyone is so sick of it.. But what we really need to do is double down and help SDNY put the Trumpies in jail.

Tue Jan 14, 2020, 04:27 PM
Jan 2020

When they have the power they spend like sailors, while out of the other side of their mouths shout about reducing the debt and deficit. Giant tax break giveaways to themselves and their wealthy donors, paid for by reducing services to average Americans. By the time a Democratic President gets in, the economy is reacting badly.

And then the RW media machine starts their blaming the current administration for it. And how we need good financial business persons like the Republicans to straighten it all out. Of course the MSM just goes along with the long time trope of conservatives = good for the economy and business, liberals = tax and spend and incompetence. Meanwhile Republicans and their wealthy supporters cash in on the Disaster Capitalism marketplace they created, buying up all the smaller businesses and homes that are forced to sell low. Then watch as the Democrats heal the economy for them and their new cheap investments start to rise in value.

Its a win win for them. And I have no idea how to prevent it from repeating over and over. It works every time. At the very least I wish the Democrats would make a greater effort in educating the public about this cycle.

8. The biggest: Massive media attacks on Democrats.
Tue Jan 14, 2020, 12:40 PM
Jan 2020

Various reasons. Most RW-generated of course; RW agents are embedded in most news organizations now, and the agendas they serve will remain, strategy altered a bit maybe. But also will be the venal and just generally despicable interests on both right and left, also of course.

Trump and Repubs have kept the media supplied with very high-octane fuel 24/7/365, and if Repubs lose power to control they'll also lose much of their newsworthiness to the Dems, and much of their rush to cover the news will become rush to create, to sustain.

Outfits that specialize in swiftboating Democrats by filling the media's 24/7/365 news cycle with their poison have mostly been in eclipse, but now they're undoubtedly planning eagerly for a return of their fat days. Judicial Watch's 40 or so partners alone, with their big windows overlooking the Capitol, have had very successful careers focused mainly on persecuting the Clintons and manufacturing fill dirt for other Democrats; at one time their material was "news" almost every day, but they've had to scramble while we've been out. Poor things are exiled to work that doesn't make the viewing screen, mostly lawsuits aimed at vote suppression, causing trouble for Democrats, etc., in many states.

Don't how well "proactive" will work against dishonorable people whose incomes and ideology are built on attack. We can pass a few laws to correct some harm, very much including restoring restrictions on ownership "empires," which will head straight to court, but for the most part it's up to the consumers to shrink them and their power.

Sanders is a proactive model for a candidacy: Seek out photo ops and coverage of official messages. Otherwise, avoid the news media as much as possible, resist disclosures of any kind, and do an end run around journalists by using voter microtargeting and social media to communicate directly with potential voters.

I can't see it for a major political party that exists to serve the people and must have transparency, however.

Will they say, “Is anyone going to hold the Trump, McCarthy and McConnell accountable?”
“Do you think letting those crimes go unpunished sends the wrong signal?”
“Can the Democrats EVER hold the GOP accountable?”

Or will they say,
“Instead of focusing on the future, Dems are once again stuck in the past.”
“Just getting elected isn’t enough for them, they are trying to put their opponents on trial all over again”
“More partisan politics in Washington, they have majorities but can’t let go of the witch hunt.”

My bets are on the latter.

Think about all the Federal agencies, departments, etc that have been torn apart, mismanaged, moved or just plain mangled.

Before we can even begin to progress, we have to rebuild our country. From National Security to our National Parks to any and all we hold sacred.

It's not just Trump I want investigated and jailed, it's each one of his enablers that have profiteered off our beautiful nation.

I would love to see the entire Republican Congress investigated. Not because I am partisan, but because they added to our destruction by betraying their Oath.

They are betraying each and every one of us.
