This might answer the question being asked about why Trump's bragging about selling our troops as mercenaries.
On edit: Trump approved Soleimani killing *in mid-2019*, after signing defense pact with UAE:

(13,571 posts)We really need something more to break wide open.
The longer it takes to transfer the articles, the better chance we have of something else happening to move public opinion.

No way the Iranis could admit to that. Their citizenry go over the edge to know there are enemies in thier midst.

(740 posts)he does because there is something in it for Trump. No matter how many lives it will cost in the end all that matters is it was of some benefit to Trump.

(43,291 posts)You did wonder after awhile why all these consultants/operatives in Trump's orbit were jet-setting across the globe and meeting foreign government/business people. The Mueller Report didn't go there, although we still haven't seen it, so who knows.
So now we must convince the Senate, or the electorate - American voters - of these conspiracies and inform them what is going on, or it will happen again.
And our press is impotent, either by design, graft, or collusion.
Seth Abramson is amazing.

(19,204 posts)the sheer volume of dumbfuckery and crime being committed by TrumpCo. is too much for the combined media to cover. There has never been - and probably never will be again - an administration as criminal and underhanded as TrumpCo. The American citizenry can't digest half of Trump's known crimes right now, let alone the full scope of the Trump Crime Family.

(33,424 posts)It's a good thing the press still includes good people, and that media conglomerates can't filter all of our news.

(13,571 posts)It's the print reporters who bring us the news, and they dig hard and are relentless.
Some of them show up as guests on cable.
But the anchors and their usual panels of chatters are not the press, to me.

(21,611 posts)Both Bushes had Saudi ties and junior's businesses were bailed out by Saudis. Both waged war on Iraq. Was this in order to have US troops in the area to protect Saudi interests?
What about Khashoggi as a critic if Saudis and Trump's refusal to criticize Saudis fir his murder?
If Saudi/US deals precede Trump, back to the Bushes, does that shed light on Republican support of Trump and his Saudi and Russian connections?
But what about Trump's support of Israel, who is an enemy of these ME nations? A conflict of interest for Trump?

(24,324 posts)was that something that doesn't fit is no one named Trump could possibly be intelligent enough to be involved in such a complex conspiracy. Then it dawned on me. They aren't. That's why the whole thing is blowing up. All these bad actors would have proceeded with this regardless of who the republican nominee was, with or without their involvement.
I could easily see Jeb Bush, the presumptive nominee early on in the campaign being involved in this. The Bush crime family is every bit as bad as the Trump crime family, only they know better how to keep it concealed. Trump is not enabling this plan, he's fucking it up. If Bush had been elected, this (or something even worse) would all still be going on and the only difference would be we wouldn't be aware of it. This conspiracy will fall apart because it attached itself to a wrecking ball named Donald Trump.

(86,782 posts)where that POS Erik Prince was and figured he's had a hand in events in that region for years. Guess I was right as it seems that he's been doing exactly what I suspected he was doing.
Thanks for posting and thanks to Mr. Abramson as well!
I'm not really glad I was right, though.

(2,227 posts)I sent the link for this thread to Rachel.
But who knows who really screens her emails...
All of this is complicated, but I don't think the American people are too stupid to GET what they are doing.
Unfortunately they may never know about it.
Outrage overload is designed to keep us beat down and overwhelmed. THAT they know how to do...
