Man the vibe about Obama is just about awesome right now.

And I don't mean just inside me, or here on DU or in the Democratic Party in general.

I mean nationally. Given that the economy is sluggish, how annoying and distracting and obstructing the GOP has been, and missteps by the White House (and there have been a few, lets be honest), the vibe still looks sounds and feels awesome.

Glancing about twitter, facebook Obama supporters are upbeat, happy, fired up and know their facts. I would go so far as say our side is so high we're walking on clouds.

The other side is bitter, muted (when not being angry), and generally not excited about their guy. For them this election is more about their resentment with Obama than anything else. They don't seem to be very excited about Romney/Ryan and seem to spend (at least in my direction) more time bitching about Obama than talking up their guy and their ideas.

There was more energy in the GOP when McCain brought Palin on to the ticket than what's going on now. And they have nowhere near the enthusiasm and pride in their choice like they had for W in either election. And let's not forget that both of those elections were won by very thin margins electorally. (Yes I know Florida was stolen, probably twice, but that's in the past now).

I just don't see how Romney has a chance given how unexcited and negative his base is at this critical juncture.

...but I feel it too, and positive feelings should not be squelched.

I sure wouldn't want Obama's pressure, any day nevermind for tonight.

He is built of GM steel I think, with a soft marshmallow centre.

The people I am interacting with are engaged and planning to vote. These are normal people in working class neighborhoods, not the politically obsessed, so I am hopeful. And I see zero pro-Romney posts on my Facebook. I have a few who really hate Obama and will try to argue with me about any pro-Obama posts. But the arguments never really go anywhere because they dislike Romney so much. A few are trying to convince people to vote Gary Johnson. We are all like 'Who?'.
