"Executive Privilege" has become "Absolute Immunity"

Democrats should take these cases to Court.

Presidents that have been impeached and awaiting trial in the Senate should not be able to claim "executive privilege" or to offer any pardons of any sort.

John Bolton is the latest example. Donald Trump is threatening "executive privilege" to keep him from testifying.

But, Trump has done that with everyone. He has more or less told the Congress they have no right to oversight. All the people that he has ever known, that works for him now, or used to work for him, cannot be called to testify about anything.

Democrats should put this into the Courts immediately. They should hope to get a decision from the Courts before the next election. Otherwise, they have agreed to let Trump slide on his claim of "absolute immunity". The Courts should be forced to make a judgement on that claim.

Too much faith is put in the executive branch, we're seeing how disastrous it is.

Drumpf will say "Executive Privilege" and Dems will challenge and it will go to Roberts to decide. What if he rules against the thief of the office? Will rw russian repugs in the Senate just over-ride him, I think they can do it if they want, but not positive. I think it's seriously doubtful that 4 repugs will show any sanity or care for our country - bet they get 3 who just do this to protect themselves, but not enough.

4. It took 9 months for court to decide on "Absolute Immunity" for Don McGahn testimony - House won,

but it took 9 months. Now trump and his thugs want to claim "Executive Privilege" to go back to court for another 9 months.

Nothing but a tactic to stall justice.

5. If Trump enforces absolute immunity

I foresee the breakdown of the entire court system. We all have 5th Amendment rights, it's just a few turns on the screw for someone to start claiming something like "personal executive privilege" and make discovery or evidence inadmissible!

And, and ... and, absolute immunity is a total concept. All in. Trump could plunder. Thievery.

Nazi Germany, of course, was known for war, holocaust, and crimes against humanity. But first and foremost is was about plunder. Those henchmen stole everything when they conquered. Lots of art and money wound up in private vaults and accounts.

12. Maybe the only thing in favor of Nazi Germany compared with Trump:

They plundered what national treasures they could haul away and did a lot of damage when conquering, then, forced to withdraw (Is Paris burning?). But, at least they were aware of what was important to civilization as a whole, and would have preferred first to own, rather than destroy. But then Hitler considered himself an artist and had he not failed at that...who knows? Whatever Trump considers himself, it is NOT an artist except in the areas of smash, grab, and exact revenge.
