We all know that there are many reasons for Trump's hatred of President Obama.

Obama is black.

Obama is intelligent.

Obama is successful in marriage, and in his career.

And there are more, but Trump is insanely jealous of Obama.

4. I agree totally with the main thrust of your OP, but I have to differ with you when you say that

"Trump embarrassed himself ---". Embarrassment requires a conscience and a sense of shame.

Trump has neither.

Thank god that enough protection exists mostly (not 100%) for the programs people do want, the ACA, Social Security, Medicare, and similar things. We're still have to wage an ongoing battle w/ the republicans and tRUMP to keep these programs going, but it is worth it.

Especially since the republicans and tRUMP passed the insane 2017 tax cut and jobs bill, rebating 100s of $billions of dollars to the top 1%ers in this country (and nothing for the rest of us). Kind of hard for the republicans and tRUMP to push for anything else when they got this irresponsible tax grab approved for only the 1%ers and / or their donors, and no one else.

Some things are worth fighting for.

You have to take into account his need to be seen as a tough guy and desire to be a wartime president.

However, you then have to throw in that he half-asses everything (but still expects praise).

And then that praise doesn't come, or things don't work out the way he wants or requires more effort on his part, he quits and leaves others holding the bag.
