Donald Trump Jr. showed off the newest firearm in his collection on Sunday, posting three Instagram photos of a 'Crusader'-model AR-15 rifle fitted with an ammunition magazine whose design depicts Hillary Clinton behind bars.

Austin, Texas-based Rare Breed Firearms made the gun, which also features a Jerusalem cross. That emblem was associated with the Crusades, a series of wars between Christians and Muslims during the 11th, 12th and 13th Centuries.

A spokesman for Trump Jr. insisted Monday that the president's eldest son wasn't trying to weigh in on the chaos in the Middle East whose latest chapter saw a U.S. drone attack kill Qassem Soleimani, the leader of Iran's Quds Force.

'Anyone claiming that the Jerusalem Cross is some sort of political statement, couldn’t be more ignorant. Symbols depicting different warriors are about as common in gun culture as hating President Trump is in the oped pages of the New York Times,' the spokesman said in a text message
