...a joint statement against Trump by all former living presidents (a larger group than now, as Poppy Bush was still alive) before the 2016 election. Did it have any effect?

If you’ve plighted your troth to Trump, you see all former presidents, including the conservative Republican ones, as part of “the elitist establishment” that is the real problem in this country. Thus, them condemning his escalation will only “prove” he’s right.

He would have to do a helluva lot more than lend his voice to a joint statement to scratch the surface of redemption.

He and Cheney belong in prison for war crimes.

Bush and Cheney created this mess with their illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq.

You're right. It's time.

They should all appear to make a joint statement at the top of the best prime time news hour.

Add as many heavyweights as you can ... retired if possible, they have more wisdom and gravitas. There are many from senior or cabinet positions, as well as Justices, national ticket party candidates.

Even getting Dan Quayle to support Trump would help.
