Lindsey Graham wants to start Trump impeachment trial within days

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The head of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee said on Sunday he wants the Senate to launch an impeachment trial of President Donald Trump within days, even if it means changing Senate rules so the chamber can move ahead without receiving articles of impeachment from the House of Representatives.

"My goal is to start this trial in the next coming days," Republican Senator Lindsey Graham told Fox News Channel's "Sunday Morning Futures."

"If we don't get the articles this week, then we need to take matters in our own hands and change the rules ... so we can start the trial."

others need to recuse themselves as jurors.

Graham and others don't believe in fair trials against Republicans, only against Democrats.

Trump thought the assassination would prop him up on the shoulders of his supporters and that would guarantee the goodwill he needed to win an acquittal from the Senate?

It can be 51 votes if thats what mitch wants.

But in reality, he will need roberts to preside. If the dems petition him to stay away until the house decides to submit the formal complaint, he will need to take time to review the arguments.

In reality, it won't be a fast process, and without the veil of propriety - no dems would participate and no managers would appear - it would be a blatant cover up.

Putin's senate could just as easily hold a sense of the senate vote and declare that is it. But they still need 51 votes, or 50 with pence.
