are we "more safe" now?

Pompeo says we are "more safe" for the killing of Soleimani.

So let's examine that.................

First off, for us to be more safe, we have to assume that the killing of Soleimani will stop or at least greatly reduce the terrorist/military acts he was orchestrating. We have to assume also that Iran will not promote someone as dangerous as Soleimani into the position that the general once held.

Does that seem likely? Wouldn't someone like General Soleimani not have a well trained top apprentice/aide that the general would have taught all of his tactics to? Someone that could quite easily fill his shoes and carry out his missions if he were to be killed? The right keeps saying "hey we killed this guy and look at all the bad shit he does." But isn't it likely someone else will simply take his place and Iran will keep right on doing what it already was, only now with all the anger and rage of Soleimani's death behind their future actions as well?

Second, if we are more safe, why has the White House warned Congress to be prepared for retaliation?

HUH? I thought we were more safe?????????????? Now we have to worry about an INCREASE in violence against the US and its interests? That is "more safe"????????

The bottom line here is.... we have left our own well being domestically and overseas up to how much restraint Iran's Supreme Leader and Soleimani's replacement chooses to exercise in Iran's retaliations, and that is not something I want to depend on.

in the tulip patch I can totally see Putin encouraging Trump to take out the Iranian general while knowing that his government would condemn Trump for the attack. Putin’s goal would the further isolation of the US.

He also had his followers ready to take over, such as Jawahiri.
Did killing him made us more safe?
No one is ever safe so long as the terrorist mentality is alive.
