Iran - Neocon - Trump - ? ? ?
It occurred to me, after reading John Bolton's comments in support of bellicose engagement with Iran, that many in US conservative circles would do anything to start a war with Iran. This feeling is generations old, dating to at least the 1979.
Trump is not a conservative, even as he is bellicose. He is, instead, a weak, blustery, impulsive, role-playing know-nothing, philosophically bankrupt teapot despot wannabe. John Bolton, on the other hand, is the real deal, a PNAC-signing NeoConservative. Were he still Trump's Security Advisor, there is no doubt who would be to credit/blame with the killing of Qasem Soleimani. But he's not there any more.
Or is he?
Trump is famous for parting ways with "the help" and then welcoming them back into the fold. And make no mistake, John Bolton was, to Trump. the help.
So is Bolton back, probably informally, with Trump?
I really have no idea. The foregoing were just personal thoughts put to pixels.
