I still think this is part of the reason for the assassination of the Iranian General

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/12/27/asia/china-russia-iran-military-drills-intl-hnk/index.html
<snip>

China, Russia and Iran began a four-day joint military exercise in the Indian Ocean and Gulf of Oman on Friday amid ongoing friction in the economically important region between Tehran and Washington.

The Gulf of Oman has been a focal point of geopolitical tensions in 2019, after two oil tankers were attacked in the narrow strait in June by an unidentified party. The US blamed Iran for the attack but Tehran denied the allegations. Then in July, Iran detained a British oil tanker, the Stena Impero, for two months.
The vessels planned to leave Iran's Chabahar port in the Gulf of Oman, before being deployed across areas in the north of the Indian Ocean, Second Rear Admiral Gholamreza Tahani said earlier, according to Iran's state-run Press TV.

It also suggests that Russia would not have approved this illegal killing either

Putin is a lot smarter than trump (ok a grain of sand is a lot smarter than trump.) He knew the repercussions it would cause around the globe. He also knew trump is easily manipulated and would take the bait.

This has worked out splendidly for Putin.

Is there no one in the administration or intelligence who would have mentioned that given this naval exercise, Don the Con was clearly being played?

Or is he that dumb and stupid - OK I take that back - he is that dumb and stupid.

He cleaned out the Pentagon last month; his cabinet is all ass kissing lackeys. After years of denigrating intel agencies and replacing key players there, there is no one left who will stand up to him. IOW trump has made sure he is the "smartest" one in the room.

Be afraid, his cartel will protect him and never stand up to him. They have drawn no line in the sand, they are all in. How long do you think it will be before trump starts tweeting about nukes?

Netanyahu has wanted the US to fight Iran ever since he has been in office. Indicted, impeached, both want a change of subject.

We can now add War Crimes to Trump’s list.

Pull a majority together the last time. Under indictment he is desperate to get a war to bolster him. He thinks he can get the charges dismissed if he can win. His wife has been indicted, too.

Putin, Netanyahu and Trump. Three criminals.

With Putin pushing Trump is just ignorant or afraid of Putin to try. He is a menace to all of us.

And do not forget Pompeo meddled In Venezuela elections. You have to wonder who many more. Trump tried in Ukraine, ran into a new Presupident that is trying to clean up.

We are just now getting to the bottom of Rudy and his dirty dealings. But it is coming out.

Trump knows his criminal record is falling apart at the seams.

on our planet.
Sadly I think the rogue foreign policy of several big powers has undermined democracy across the globe and is now threatening to destroy democracy in said big powers. And I don't think the oligarchs and their political lackeys give a damn.

I bet trump stops all overseas visits. Well except maybe to USSR. If I was say, Merkel, I would not want him in Germany, he's too hot. Iran is very patient, cold and calculating. The only question that remains is will they extract their revenge on trump personally or on Americans?

not being invited to the party in the gulf and wanted to make a splash by showing he could play too, even if they didn't invite him. That's how he thinks and he is that shallow and self absorbed, I put nothing past him now that he's desperate.

And his despot buddies didn't invite him to play!
