I predict that as usual the US is prepared for the last war, not the next one

We’ve got nuclear weapons, who knows with Trump in charge we might actually use them. But I doubt Israel would appreciate nuclear strikes in the region. Aircraft carriers and advanced fighters will no doubt destroy anyone’s standing military. But as we see over and over ultimately you need boots on the ground. Really, the days of us invading a country successfully are past. And have been for some time.

But countries like Iran or N Korea can’t and won’t fight our kind of war. However, both these countries and others have put a great deal of effort into preparing for a cyber war and the US is not really prepared for that. I’m not saying the US is totally unprepared, but these other countries won’t need the huge military infrastructure we’ve built up to cause some real damage to the US. Way out of proportion to their investment.
