(58,656 posts)She followed Trump on the campaign trail IIRC. IAE she knows his ass and has heard all the bullshit being spewed by his minions.
She hits back when RWers start gaslighting.
I like her. She could do her own show.

(36,055 posts)I liked Tur before Wallace joined MSNBC.
She can take Nicole's slot, and thankfully Nicole can take Chuck's.
She's no bullshit, and does consistently challenging follow-up.
I'll be happy to see her back.

(6,359 posts)...like the air coming out of a balloon...we get Chuckie. His "If today's Friday that means..." opening bullchit is trite and formulaic. Just sucks the air right out of the car on my drive home.
I call 5-6 my podcast hour for good reason and he can't be gone soon enough.
Then comes Ari and, while weaker than Nicole, he's far better than Chuckie.
Chuck was a poor replacement for Tim Russert as NBC's political director and I only hope that this move weakens his role in influencing the public discourse.

Any of them would have been better at hosting Meet the Press than him!!! Hell, even I MIGHT have been able to do it. MAAAAAAAYBEEE...

(23,668 posts)The move comes amid an anchor reshuffle at MSNBC, which included the NBCUniversal-owned cable news outlet moving Ali Velshi NBCs business correspondent to a new morning weekend show at 8 a.m., putting an end to his show with Ruhle, Velshi & Ruhle at 1 p.m.
Velshi also gives up his MSNBC 3 p.m. slot, which sources say is likely go to Joshua Johnson, the host of national NPR talk show 1A who last year signed a deal to become an anchor at MSNBC, where he has been a contributor since 2018.

(2,657 posts)I cannot get through an entire show with that idiotic, GOP butt-kissing toady. Just get rid of his MTP Daily entirely, and slide everyone after Nicole Wallace and before Ari Melber's The Beat to an hour later. Then Nicole will have two hours. Nicole's show has become awesome. It is usually about 50 minutes of pointing out the latest ways in which the Trump Administration is messing up.

(43,163 posts)lacking a broad understanding of historical political theory from 1500-2020, and too quick and reflexive to interview with impartiality, which is to say, lacking self-awareness.
I fail to understand why they have to have Washington types in this position. It makes for overlapping social circuitry and an insider's game that becomes balancing two parties in a lopsided way where one party dominates.

(81,267 posts)Mr. I just put one side and let em say their piece and then I put the other side on and say their piece and thats that. Ive done my job.
FUCK that!!!
You dont just fucking sit there! When you hear obvious bullshit, you stop on the spot and dig into that! Do some follow-up questioning, you lazy cocky entitled SOB! You do some damn fucking FACT-CHECKING, dammit!!! You dont just let the liars sit there and lie for free, with impunity, for Petes sake!
Chuck, in YOUR position, as host of such a longtime distinguished marquee Sunday news program AND its weekday companion show, you should be sufficiently up on the news to recognize bullshit when you hear it, especially from republi-CONS. Or your first-class staff should be able to clue you in beforehand or off-camera - assuming you listen to them. How much are they paying you?
If I were running MSNBC, Chuck, youd become the shoe-shine man in the lobby on the way to the elevator up to the studio.
Id be tempted to ask Rachel Maddow if she wanted to add the Sunday version to her weekly duties. Or maybe try to steal Jake Tapper or some such.

(24,396 posts)that was SOP for MTP back in the day. Get rid of the single host format and bring in three JOURNALISTS - not newsreaders - to pose tough questions to the guests. That would make for an interesting Sunday show.
As far as the daily MTP - let Nicole have a 2-hour slot.
