First off let me say, I'm surprised i've never heard on this general, given how important he apparently was!
I'm curious how many DUers know of him.
Second, they guy sure seems to have been responsible for a lot of Iran's activities in Iraq. He needed to be taken out......
Third, WTF was this guy doing at the airport with the Iraq militia leads that were also killed? That's no way to military campaign. To put that many valuable leaders in such a public place? That seems REALLY strange to me. Need more details of the operation and circumstances but it seems hard to believe they could be that dumb to risk that many high value players in one place. My first thought it Putin probably "gave up" Soleimani to drumpf so drumpf could kill him, while Putin is hoping this will be a disaster for the US in backlash.
That being said........... if you get stung by a bee swatting at the entire nest in retaliation isn't the best idea. How many lives will Iran take in retaliation? Ten? a hundred? a thousand? does drumpf understand from our military leaders that Iran would probably retaliate? Is it worth the persons that are going to die to "pay them back" for the embassy attack?
