(20,268 posts)My fervent prayer of demand.
There is such a thing.
>>There is no lack of evidence that the religious leaders of the day opposed both John and Jesus and even to the present Gods kingdom and its subjects are the target of opposition, if not persecution. But those who want to do violence to the kingdom are not trying to force their way into it, but to eradicate it.
My NIV Study Bible translates it, "The kingdom of heaven has been forcefully
advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it." This makes more sense. Several of Jesus parables speak of the kingdom as growing beyond what would be expected and by its own power. And Jesus told Peter that the gates of hell would not prevail against the
church. Nothing will ever stop the advance of Gods kingdom.
Matthew Henrys commentary sums it up well. "The kingdom of heaven was never intended to indulge the ease of triflers, but to be the rest of them that labor. Oh that we could see a greater number with a holy contention thrusting themselves into it."<<

(42,641 posts)And I also pray for Trump.
When I look at Trump, I see a massively insecure little boy who was psychologically abused by his parents. And that abuse manifests itself in his behavior.
This is not said with the intent of excusing what he has done, but he is a product of his own life experiences.
And I agree with Dr. King when he said that the moral arc of the universe bends toward justice. Especially in these times, we must never despair.

I been exceptionally down recently most likely my new 'condition' finally presenting. Looks to be a delayed reaction. The holidays didn't upset me much. Mb I'm just strung out from doing the work of two.
I offer a prayerful wish/intent for you, Mon Ami, and your beloved family.

(42,641 posts)But the US experienced a bloody revolution 250 years ago, where people were very divided between loyalists and rebels.
And the US experienced a civil war 150 years ago,, with the same massive division.
And in 1964, that same division was aggravated when the racists in the country moved from the Democratic party to the GOP, and opposition to the Vietnam war was a factor.
And the country survived.
Remember 2018, and how a motivated population threw out many GOP incumbents. And consider that many GOP incumbents decided not to run in 2020.
If you can, get out and walk, or bike, or exercise at home. Those endorphins can have a huge effect.

(20,268 posts)Good God, how did it come to this.
I go back to when Barack was our leader. Like a breath of Springtime!
Only thing if this conflict spins outta control, nukes were not used in the past. That's what may be different. There's zero trust in who's actually in charge and 'not' in charge.
I say daily, "Maranatha, Lord come quickly!"
