Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI was thinking about the Shrub last night.
After 8 years of a presidency that included 9/11....Osama bin Laden....The Patriot Act.....Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq (Shock and Awe!!)....Bush Tax Cuts....etc.....
It was as if he didn't even exist during the RNC Convention. No mention of him in the speeches, no mention of his 'accomplishments' (except Jeb's education comments). Just a passing acknowledgement in a video montage.
There was no way in hell the RNC would allow him on their stage. They know the country didn't want to hear from him.
How proud I am to be a Democrat today.

(129,197 posts)and gave them marching orders to attack the Democrats, their monster turned on them because that same group exposed the hypocrisy within their own party. And so in order to get rid of that hypocrite imagery and get back on message to go after Democrats, they had to throw Shrub under the bus.

And I am surprised you needed to ask.

It's really unbelievable, almost.
What is more unbelievable is that some people, maybe even enough, will choose evil.

(53,410 posts)Both men showed their deep respect for each other. Obama made his surprise appearance to personally thank Clinton who showed his respect by nominating him. We're all watching history and the day will come a long time from now when we can say we remember that moment.
I must say I've witnessed many great American moments as well as many tragic ones in my life.

My dad was a republicon. Poor republicon. Only thing I never understood about my dad. After reading the republicon platform of '56 I sorta' came to terms with that.
