There can be no Senate trial without articles being transmitted. That would be like a criminal court trial without charges being filed against the accused.

Jake is simply wrong about this (if he wasn't, McConnell would've already done it).

Wouldn't the Senate have to impeach Trump first?

That job is solely the House's responsibility. What the House has produced has not been forwarded, so they can't have a trial without the documentation.

And, the House hasn't assigned the trials managers.

I don't like or trust Jake Sherman.

But, sure, hey, why not. The Constitution is already ripped into tatters, what's one more awful thing to do to our nation?

For anyone who subscribes to the principles of our Constitution, however, that's not how a trial works.
