President Obama: "From hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my songs of the year."

Barack Obama @BarackObama

From hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my songs of the year. If you’re looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or help you turn up a workout, I hope there’s a track or two in here that does the trick.

I've lost interest in keeping up with pop culture. I haven't heard a single song on that list. I only recognize four names, and two of those are oldies like Mavis and Bruce.

I only recognized one artist, but NOT the song.

I guess I should zip over to YouTube and check some of it out.

FWIW, I really, really like Lucas Davenport's song list and never found a valid reason to expand it. That is, if you have a complete companion Beatles collection to complement it. And of course, you need a surf music collection when cruising Southern California's Pacific Coast Highway.

Lucas Davenport's "Best Songs of the Rock Era" list, in no particular order,

with ZZ Top.
