Who wants a full-on Russian asset to represent them?

I often wonder what the Volga Germans and Russian/Polish/Ukrainian Mennonites in Kansas think about Trump's love of Putin.

the GOP nomination for senator. Brownback really weakened GOP support in Kansas with his insane tax cuts.

O'Brien said on ABC's "This Week" that Pompeo told him that he plans to stay on as the secretary of State.

"I suspect Secretary Pompeo will stay," O'Brien said. "I spoke with him about this two nights ago. He said he's not running for Senate. He said he's staying as secretary of State."

Kansas elected a Democratic Governor in the last election.
They were the epitome of a conservative Republican State for a long time; let’s hope they have gotten tired of Trump’s bullshit.

Since George Docking was elected in 1956, Kansas has elected 5 different Democratic Governors (Laura Kelly is the 6th) for about 30 of those years
While Republicans have run the state in the last 8, prior to that Sebelius was 6 years and her replacement Parkinson was 2

If Pompeo is withdrawing, that either means that his chances in the primary are bad, but I find that hard to believe since the next big name running on the GOP side is Kris Kobach, the voter-disenfranchising former SOS SOB, and we rejected him for governor last year, or maybe a generic democrat or whoever is the leading democrat is already shown as ahead in some internal polls?

For Pompeo, a Senate run could be a prelude to a presidential run in 2024. At the least, a spot in the Senate would keep him politically relevant regardless of Trump’s fate in 2020. Still, some senators said privately that the gravitas of the secretary of State post would position him better for a White House run than if he were one of the most junior senators in the building.

Pompeo himself has spoken privately about the prospect of a presidential run. He and his friend Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) attended a private dinner at the American Enterprise Institute’s annual retreat in Sea Island, Ga., this spring.

Asked whether he’s considered running for president, Pompeo responded, “I have,” and then pointed at Cotton and joked: “And I might be running against that guy,” according to one attendee.

Let's hope the same mindset that gave Kobach the thumbs down as governor will do the same for his senate bid.
